Requirement: To receive the certificate, students must attend at least 80% of classes and demonstrate proficiency in all core techniques.
Absolutely! Over 80% of our students start with no experience and graduate at a professional level. Our teaching method combines theoretical understanding with repetitive practice, making it accessible regardless of age.
Don't worry! Our instructors are not just skilled craftsmen—they are experienced teaching professionals. During practical sessions, they provide individual guidance and work to resolve any issues, so you can learn with confidence.
For short absences (1 day to a few days), we have a follow-up system using self-study time after classes. For longer absences (1 week or more), we will accommodate you by either continuing or changing your class schedule.
Our curriculum includes Japanese cuisine fundamentals such as dashi (broth) preparation, sashimi, and tempura. We also include decorative vegetable cutting techniques that go beyond typical sushi restaurant skills.
The amount of hands-on practice is overwhelmingly greater. Unlike group-based culinary schools, at Sushi College Tokyo, you master fish preparation through intensive repetition. *Note: We are not a culinary vocational school, so chef's licenses are not included.
We ask that students arrange their own accommodation. We appreciate your understanding.
Yes, installment payment through loans is available. You can split payments into 3 to 84 monthly installments, making professional sushi training more accessible.
For the 4-week intensive course, a short-term stay visa (tourist visa) is sufficient for most nationalities. Many countries have visa exemption agreements with Japan for stays up to 90 days. Please check with your local Japanese embassy or consulate for specific visa requirements based on your nationality.
Our instructors are certified master chefs with decades of experience in prestigious sushi restaurants across Tokyo and internationally.
All our instructors hold professional certifications and have worked in Michelin-starred establishments. They are fluent in English and passionate about sharing the authentic art of sushi-making with international students.
